Troops of the Special Task Force, Operation Safe Haven, have engaged bandits in Dungur, Dadda, Wanka, Kyaram, and Kukawa villages in Kanam Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The villages, located along the border with Benue and Taraba States, are known to be used as enclaves by bandits to launch attacks on surrounding communities.
During the operation, a reliable source told AIT News that the troops inflicted heavy casualties on the bandits and destroyed a number of their logistics bases and camps.
However, the military operation recorded casualties, as some soldiers paid the ultimate price on the line of duty.
