Leaders of the Nigeria Democratic Congress say the party is stepping forward at a time many Nigerians are searching for a new political direction.
At the launch of the party’s digital membership platform in Abuja, founder Seriake Dickson described the NDC as a platform open to Nigerians both at home and in the diaspora who desire genuine change in the country.
According to him, the party may be new, but it is driven by experienced political actors who believe Nigeria can still be steered towards stability and development.
The party says it is on a rescue mission to salvage the country, presenting itself as a credible alternative to the ruling All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 general elections.
NDC leaders also dismissed concerns about its recent formation, recalling that the All Progressives Congress was formed in 2013 and went on to win the 2015 elections.
They say the current mood of the nation shows that many citizens are eager for change and are ready to support a new political movement.
The party also urged Nigerians not to wait until it is too late but to take advantage of the digital registration platform to join the movement.
NDC officials insist the party has enough experienced figures to build a strong political structure capable of competing in the 2027 elections.
