The Bayelsa State Government has reiterated its commitment to inclusive governance, pledging to involve the state’s elders in critical decision-making processes.
Deputy Governor Peter Akpe made this known during a courtesy visit by members of the Bayelsa State Elders Council at the Government House Yenagoa.
He noted that the administration is keen on leveraging the vast experience of senior citizens to promote sustainable development and social stability in the state.
Former Deputy Governor and Chairman of the Council, retired Rear Admiral Gboribiogha Jonah, who led the delegation, assured the government of the council’s unwavering support.
He emphasized their readiness to provide guidance where necessary to ensure the smooth running of the state.
The Bayelsa State Elders Council is a non-political body that interfaces with government to promote unity, peace, and positive development in the state.
