Muslim faithful in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, and Nigerians by extension have been urged to sustain the lessons of Ramadan by promoting love, unity, and patriotism for national peace, stability, and progress, regardless of ethnic and political differences.
The call was made at the Eid prayer ground during the two Rakat prayers led by the Imam Imale of Ilorin, Abdullahi Abdulhameed.
Some public office holders who spoke to our correspondent, who monitored the Eid-el-Fitr prayer, emphasized the need for unity and peaceful coexistence.
The prayer was conducted under heavy security presence, while the Emir of Ilorin and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq were notably absent.

This year’s Eid prayer marks a significant moment in Ilorin’s history, being the first in over 42 years without a Chief Imam, following the passing of Sheikh Mohammad Bashir Soliu on January 20, 2026—a loss that deeply affected the Ilorin Emirate and beyond.
