A fuel tanker accident in Ibadan, Oyo State, has left several people feared dead. The truck lost its brakes in Beere and rammed into Oje market, killing and injuring several people who were selling by the roadside.
The driver struggled to regain control, but the truck eventually crashed into commercial tricycles loading passengers.
Emergency responders, including state ambulances and firefighters, were quickly mobilised to the scene to prevent a potential fire outbreak.
The Oyo State Road Management Agency, OYRTMA, has removed the truck to ease traffic congestion. The extent of the casualties is still unknown, with eyewitnesses reporting multiple fatalities.
