Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed is to lead a high-powered committee to chart a way forward ahead of the 2027 general elections, as the crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) persists.
The committee was set up following an expanded stakeholders’ meeting held at Government House, Bauchi, in North-East Nigeria.
Addressing journalists after the meeting, the Bauchi State PDP Chairman, Samaila Burga, said stakeholders deliberated extensively on the political direction the governor and other party leaders may take ahead of the 2027 elections.
Samila Burga explained that to fast-track decision-making, the committee chaired by Governor Bala Mohammed is to examine all available options to ensure smooth and strategic participation in the 2027 general elections.
The committee is expected to submit its report within one week, with its recommendations likely to determine the future of the party in the state.
