A new National Working Committee NWC of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP is expected to emerge early Monday in Abuja, as the group loyal to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike holds its national elective convention at the Velodrome of the National Stadium.
The party has nominated Abdulrahman Mohammed to emerge as national chairman, Samuel Anyanwu as the party’s national secretary, amongst others positions.
The group loyal to the minister of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike has continued to tighten its grip on the party’s structure.
The Abulrahman led-PDP had described the convention as non- negotiable among several preconditions for reconciling with the Turaki led-PDP.
The 103 National Executive Committee of the Tanimu Turaki-led PDP, on friday revealed that it has filed an appeal at the Supreme Court against the recent judgement by the Abuja Court of Appeal, annulling the party’s November 15 and 16, 2025 convention in Ibadan, oyo State and also stopping the convention by the Abdulrahaman led- caretaker Committee, indicating that the current crisis in the party is far from abating despite the reconciliation moves that both groups believe to be making presently.
