The Federal High Court in Kaduna has fixed April 14, 2026, for ruling on the bail application of former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai.
Proceedings on Wednesday drew heightened attention as arguments on the bail application were concluded, with both the prosecution and defence presenting their submissions before the court adjourned for ruling.
Lead counsel to the former governor, Oluwole Iyamu (SAN), expressed optimism that the court would deliver a fair decision when it reconvenes.

Moments after the court session, operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) took custody of El-Rufai, escorting him out of the court premises under tight security.
El-Rufai is facing charges filed by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and had earlier been arraigned at both the Federal High Court and a Kaduna State High Court on separate allegations.
