The Federal Government has declared Friday, April 3, and Monday, April 6, 2026 as public holidays to mark this year’s Easter celebration.

In a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Magdalene Ajani, the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government and congratulated Christians in Nigeria and the diaspora on the occasion of Easter.

The Minister urged Nigerians to reflect the virtues of selflessness, forgiveness, forbearance, and love exemplified by Jesus Christ, while remaining committed to tolerance, unity, and peaceful coexistence.
