President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has postponed his planned visit to Iperu, Ogun State, and will instead travel to Jos, Plateau State, following recent deadly attacks in the area.
According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President will visit Plateau to commiserate with victims and assess the security situation.
The visit comes amid renewed violence that has claimed several lives, as the President shifts focus to address the crisis.
After Plateau, President Tinubu is expected to proceed to Lagos to observe Good Friday, before continuing his official engagements.
He will be in Ogun State on Saturday for the commissioning of the Gateway International Cargo Airport in Iperu, along with two commercial aircraft to boost trade.
Other engagements include the inauguration of a Nigeria Customs Service facility and multiple infrastructure projects in Lagos, before a scheduled visit to Bayelsa State on April 10.
