President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening regional security cooperation following talks with his Chadian counterpart, Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Speaking during the visit on Thursday, President Tinubu said discussions between both leaders centred on addressing growing security challenges in the region, particularly terrorism and banditry affecting parts of northern Nigeria and neighbouring countries.
ait.live State House Correspondent reports that President Tinubu further emphasized that enhanced collaboration would not only improve security but also promote trade, economic growth, and prosperity among the people of the region, adding that Nigeria remains committed to working with Chad and other neighbouring countries, including Niger Republic, to overcome shared challenges.
