Grief, anger and renewed calls for justice defined the atmosphere in Jos, Plateau State as families who lost loved ones in Palm Sunday terror attacks came face to face with President Bola Tinubu during his visit to the State on Thursday.

Among those who met the President was Favour Rhoda, the mother captured in a viral video clutching her dying son — a moment that has come to symbolize the human toll of the violence.

President Tinubu met with her and other bereaved families, offering condolences and assuring them that such tragedies would not recur.

At the Yakubu Gowon Airport, the reception reflected a mix of sorrow and expectation, as victims’ families stood alongside government officials and traditional rulers to receive the President.

Governor Caleb Mutfwang acknowledged the recent security setbacks in the State, but maintained that progress is being made in addressing the challenges.

He also commended security agencies for their efforts in maintaining stability.

In a move to strengthen collaboration, President Tinubu approved a request by the Gbong Gwom Jos, Da Jacob Buba, for Plateau traditional rulers to visit the State House for further engagement on security and peacebuilding.

The Federal Government also announced plans to install CCTV cameras at strategic locations across the State as part of measures to curb insecurity and enhance surveillance.
