The Nasarawa State Police Command says it has rescued a three-day-old baby who was abducted in Mararaba and arrested two suspects in connection with the crime.
The command ‘s Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of police Ramhan Nansel, in a statement said the baby’s 19-year-old mother reported that the child was taken from her while she slept in her home by unknown individuals who broke in and threatened her.
The police acting on the report, launched an investigation, and on April 3, 2026, operatives arrested two suspects and found the baby in their possession.

The suspects reportedly confessed and mentioned another accomplice who is still at large.
The rescued baby was taken to the hospital for medical examination, and confirmed to be in good health and later reunited with his parents.
The statement explained that the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department Lafia for further investigation, while efforts are on to arrest the fleeing suspect.
