Two Ethiopians, Habatamu Birhane and Shewaye Dugo-Tolosa, have emerged winners in the male and female categories of the maiden Yenagoa City International 10-kilometre race.
The race, flagged off at Opolo Roundabout by Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, attracted strong competition as local athletes tested their strength against world-class runners.
Governor Diri described the event as a strategic initiative aimed at positioning Bayelsa as a global destination for sports tourism.

Winners in both categories received a cash prize of five thousand United States dollars.
