Several residents have been abducted after heavily armed bandits stormed Kurfa community in Bukuyum Local Government Area of Zamfara State on April 3, 2026.
The attackers reportedly fired sporadically, creating panic before whisking victims away to unknown destinations.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, Yazid Abubakar, said a joint team of police, military, and other security agencies responded swiftly to a distress call but arrived after the assailants had fled.
Tactical teams have since launched a manhunt to track down the perpetrators.

Meanwhile, some residents who escaped into surrounding areas have been rescued and are currently receiving medical treatment.
Authorities say efforts are ongoing to ascertain the exact number of abducted victims as operations intensify to restore security in the area.
