Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has delayed a final decision on whether to quit the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, extending consultations with his supporters by one week.
The extension followed a closed-door meeting at the Government House, where party leaders resolved to allow more time for political consultations ahead of 2027.

A committee led by Deputy Governor Auwal Jatau is reviewing options for possible realignment, while State PDP Chairman Sama’ila Burga says the move is aimed at finding a broader solution that keeps members united.

The committee, which includes lawmakers and local government chairmen, is expected to submit its recommendations after the new one-week window.
