Obidient Movement Worldwide is raising alarm over what it calls a sinister scheme to block Peter Obi from being on the 2027 presidential ballot.
At a media briefing in Kano, the group alleged that strong political forces linked to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC are behind legal and administrative crackdown to strip the former presidential candidate of a viable political platform.
The political atmosphere in Kano State is charging up following a series of controversial moves by the electoral umpire.
National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Yunusa Tanko, claims a coordinated effort is underway to sideline Peter Obi ahead of the January 2027 polls.
According to the group, the pressure intensified following the massive rally of the African Democratic Congress, ADC in Kano on March 30, where former Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso formally aligned with the party.
They allege that subsequent actions by INEC, including the delisting of ADC leadership and a fresh reinterpretation of an Appeal Court ruling, are targeted strikes intended to dismantle opposition alliances.
The movement is now calling on the civil society, the judiciary, and the international community to intervene, warning that if the developments are not just an attack on one man, but a grave threat to Nigeria’s democratic stability.
