As Christians in Bayelsa State join others across the globe to celebrate Easter, marking the resurrection of Jesus Christ, Governor Douye Diri is calling on citizens to emulate Christ’s life of sacrifice, embrace peace, and support one another for the collective progress of the state.
The governor made the call in the Easter Sunday service at St. Peter’s Anglican Church in his hometown of Sampou, Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area.
Addressing the congregation, he described Easter as a period for deep reflection on the virtues of love, sacrifice, and selflessness, stressing that true leadership and responsible citizenship require personal commitment to the common good.
Governor Douye Diri was accompanied by his deputy, Peter Akpe, alongside top government functionaries and party stakeholders, as they joined in prayers for a peaceful and prosperous Bayelsa State.
