The Police in Niger State have confirmed the death of a 25-year-old student, Seyi Simon of Federal University of Education, Kontagora, Niger State.
The incident was said to have occurred during a party organised by the students for the newly admitted students at the school hall.
Confirming the incident, the spokesman of the Police, Superintendent Wasi’u Abiodun, said on April 5 at about 1.40am, it was reported at A Division Kontagora that during a party organised by the students for the newly admitted students, there was a misunderstanding.
According to him, the faceoff between the 18-year-old Jafar Musa of the Angwan-Gwari area of Kontagora and Seyi Simon, who is a student of the school, led to a fight between the duo.
Unfortunately, Musa stabbed the student with a dagger, who was rushed to the General Hospital, Kontagora, where he was confirmed dead.
The police added that, the suspect has been arrested for further investigation.
