As the African Democratic Congress, ADC leadership crisis deepens, the National Youth wing of the party has given a 72-hour ultimatum to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognise Senator David Mark led leadership or face a massive protest nationwide.
The ADC Youths wing also demanded immediate resignation of Prof Joash Amupitan as the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Speaking at a media confernec in Abuja, alongside a Coalition of Civil Society Organisations National Youth Leader, Balarabe Rufai, warned against INEC’s failure to comply within 72 hours.
They called on the National Assembly to exercise their constitutional oversight by investigating the matter towards initiating appropriate actions, including the removal of the INEC Chairman as time is of essence and in the interest of the nation’s Democracy .
The hroup asked the INEC Chairman to” Publicly apologize to Nigerians for alleged unconstitutional and partisan conduct.
Last week, A planned protest by the opposition party was suspended for more consultations as heavy security was deployed at the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission to maintain law and order.
