Bauchi State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has announced its formal withdrawal from ongoing political discussions with the All Progressives Congress, APC, citing unacceptable conditions.
The State PDP Chairman, Samaila Burga, disclosed this during a media conference held at the party’s secretariat in Bauchi, North-East Nigeria. He cleared the air on the collapsed deal, stating that the proposal for mass defection is now dead in the water.
Has the PDP in Bauchi state officially shut its door to its political romance with the APC? Well that seems to be the case following a high-profile push by the APC’s national leadership to woo Governor Bala Mohammed and other key stakeholders into their fold ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Burga noted that the party remains open to exploring other viable platforms to ensure its members have a competitive edge in 2027.
Regarding the 2027 countdown, the Chairman assured supporters that the party is strictly following all legal and electoral timelines.
For now, the Bauchi State PDP says its focus remains on internal strengthening as the road to the next general election begins to take shape.
