As Catholics across the country celebrate Mothering Sunday, Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has described mothers as the foundation of peace, unity, and progress in the nation.
Governor Uzodimma, while congratulating mothers during a church service at St. Rose of Lima Parish, Omuma, in Oru East Local Government Area of Imo State, used the opportunity to appreciate residents for sustaining peace and stability in the state.
The wife of the Governor, Chioma Uzodimma, in her remarks at the service, commended mothers for their invaluable role in shaping families and strengthening the Christian faith.
Earlier in his homily, the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Augustine Agoawuike emphasized that mothers remain the pillars of both faith and society, urging the faithful to honour their sacrifices and promote unity within the Church.
The celebration featured the cutting of the Mothering Sunday cake and the presentation of an award of honour to the wife of the Governor by the Catholic Women Organisation of St. Rose of Lima Parish, Ozuh, Omuma.
