Defendants in an alleged coup plot case have pleaded not guilty to a 13-count charge before the Federal High Court in Abuja.
The Federal Government is prosecuting former Petroleum Minister, Timipre Sylva, alongside six others over allegations of treason, terrorism, and money laundering.
Following the plea, the Attorney General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi, asked the court to remand the defendants in DSS custody and push for an expedited trial.
The court granted the request, ordering their remand while directing that lawyers must have full access.
Earlier, proceedings were briefly stood down for an interpreter for one of the defendants.
All defendants were present except Timipre Sylva, who is said to be at large.
