The Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal, on Tuesday, met with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in a closed-door session to discuss security, the economy, and political developments in the state.

In a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Idris, the meeting took place shortly after a session between the president and governors elected under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to the statement, discussions focused on the current security situation in Zamfara, highlighting progress made so far and identifying areas that require improvement to restore lasting peace across the state.

Governor Lawal also briefed the President on Zamfara’s economic growth, particularly efforts to boost internally generated revenue while seeking additional support from the federal government.

President Tinubu, in response, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting Zamfara State. This includes the possible deployment of additional troops and essential equipment to strengthen security operations.

The President further emphasized ongoing federal support through resources and programmes aimed at enhancing local industries and creating employment opportunities in Zamfara State.
