A joint security team comprising the Edo State Special Security Squad, the Edo State Security Corps, and the Nigeria Police Force has raided a suspected kidnappers’ hideout in a forest within Amah community in Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.
The operation led to the arrest of two suspects believed to be linked to a notorious kidnapping syndicate operating in the area.

The operation followed credible intelligence reports of criminal activities in the area. The security team, led by the Principal Security Officer to the Edo State Government, Saturday Okoh, successfully stormed the location and apprehended the suspects as part of ongoing efforts to curb crime across the state.
Speaking to journalists after the raid, the spokesperson for the Special Security Squad, Eribo Enwata, revealed that the operation was based on a tip-off about a suspected kidnapping kingpin, identified simply as “Best”,who allegedly operates from the forest hideout.
During the raid, security operatives recovered items including charms and military uniforms.

The suspects, who reportedly came from different parts of the country, told newsmen they were recruited by the alleged mastermind, “Best.”
Enwata urged residents and community leaders to remain vigilant and support security agencies by promptly reporting suspicious activities.
The operation is in line with the directive of Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, who has maintained a zero-tolerance stance on crime and criminality in the state.
