Women Journalists in Nigeria have been urged to collaborate to elevate women’s voices in the media sector and contribute meaningfully to national development.
The National Chairperson of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Aisha Ibrahim made the call during the inauguration of New executives for the Niger state chapter.
Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists in Niger State, Abi Nmodu called on members to foster unity and prioritise professionalism.
In her acceptance speech, the newly inaugurated Chairperson, Asabe Garba vowed to uphold transparency, promote inclusivity, and strengthen the association for the collective benefit.

The new executives include Asabe Garba as Chairperson, Ruth Gana as Vice Chairperson, Hauwa Inuwa as Secretary, Aisha Baba-Doko as Assistant Secretary, Fatima Suleiman as Treasurer, Safiya Yaman as Financial Secretary, and Hussaina Musa as Auditor.
For about 2 years, the Niger state chapters of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists has been without formal leadership, but the issue has been put to rest with the inauguration of new executives to pilot the affairs of the chapter.
