The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has waived the screening requirement for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the party’s primary election.

The party said President Tinubu is deemed duly screened in accordance with the APC constitution for participation in the forthcoming primary.

According to a statement by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the decision followed the overwhelming endorsements and votes of confidence passed on the President by key stakeholders, including the Progressive Governors Forum, members of the National Assembly, and other party organs during the APC National Summit held on May 22, 2025.

The NWC said the decision was taken in line with its constitutional powers to organise and supervise party primaries and grant waivers in special circumstances in the interest of the party.
