Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has criticised the Nigeria Democratic Party, NDC, saying the party lacks a clear ideological direction and a published manifesto ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a post on his X handle, Onanuga said he twice checked the party’s website out of curiosity to review its manifesto and policy direction, but claimed he found no accessible document.
According to him, the party reportedly associated in recent political discussions with Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso appears to offer no substantive alternative to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC and its Renewed Hope Agenda.

He further noted that although the party’s national leadership, including Senator Seriake Dickson, has spoken about an ideological contest in 2027, what is publicly available on the party’s platform are only brief policy “nuggets” rather than a detailed manifesto.
Onanuga dismissed the content as lacking depth, describing it as insufficient to present a credible governance blueprint for Nigeria.
