The lawmaker representing Yagba Federal Constituency, Leke Abejide, has commenced the disbursement of 710 million Naira in support funding for 71 autonomous communities across his constituency in Kogi State.
This initiative fulfills a key campaign promise, launched alongside his annual food distribution programme.
Under the scheme, each of the 71 communities is receiving 10 million Naira to drive local development.
Leke Abejide, alongside his wife Esther, traditional rulers, and top political figures, began their mission at the altar.
They gathered in Yagba, Kogi State, to seek divine guidance before launching the N710 million community support initiative across 71 local communities.
The official flag-off kicked off from Abejide’s country home in Alu, Yagba East.
Leaders from all 71 beneficiary communities gathered to receive cheques of N10 million each. The funds are earmarked for specific projects proposed by the people themselves to their representative in the National Assembly.
The federal lawmaker assured his constituents that this N710 million phase is just the beginning. He announced a future commitment of N5 billion to ensure every community project reaches full completion.
Over the next five days, the project tour will sweep through Yagba West, Yagba East, and Mopa-Muro.
Since 2019, Abejide has invested over N20 billion into education and rural infrastructure through the Leke Abejide Foundation, marking a transformative era for the people of Yagba.
