Rivers State Government has warned principals of senior secondary schools against diversion, hoarding and sale of science materials provided for students use.
Commissioner for Education, Peter Nwagor gave the warning during distribution of science materials to principals of senior secondary schools in Rivers State, South-South Nigeria.
The science materials provided by the Rivers State Government are to be used by senior secondary schools students during the West African Examinations Council, WAEC and National Examinations Council, NECO exams.
Nwagor who handed over the science materials to school principals said the they are part of the state government policy to improve teaching and learning.
Executive Chairman, Senior Secondary School Board, Anthony Egwurugwu said the Board will ensure that the science materials are deployed for the benefit of students.
The Education Commissioner also warned that stiffer punishment awaits principals aiding examination malpractices within the state.
