Nine out of 114 All Progressives Congress, APC aspirants for the Zamfara State House of Assembly have missed their mandatory screening ahead of the party primaries for the 2027 election.
APC State Publicity Secretary, Ibrahim Mohammed, confirmed the development following the conclusion of the two-day exercise.
The screening for the state’s assembly aspirants was marked by a calm and orderly atmosphere.
APC officials noted that the process remained peaceful as aspirants arrived to verify their credentials.
With 24 seats available in the Zamfara State House of Assembly, a total of 114 aspirants purchased the APC nomination forms. However, the committee’s final tally showed a shortfall in attendance.
Party executives have now issued a final ultimatum, that the nine missing aspirants have just six hours to report to the committee or face automatic disqualification from the race.
Beyond the absenteeism, the committee is currently reviewing files with technical discrepancies. Officials stated that candidates with unresolved documentation issues will be contacted as the vetting process enters its final stage.
