Rotary Club of Abuja Pearl says there is an increasing need to adopt renewable energy, including solar and hybrid systems to ensure uninterrupted, sustainable electricity for critical services across public hospitals in Nigeria.
Club Charter President 2025/2026, Victoria Imomoh said this during the inauguration and handing over ceremony of solar energy equipment project to Kubwa General Hospital, Abuja.
The project was executed in collaboration with project developers and sponsors, Bartum Energy.
The club insists that improving power supply in public health facilities, particularly in low-and middle-income countries like Nigeria will help in boosting efficiency, enhance patient safety, and minimise reliance on expensive diesel generators
Other speakers said hospitals are energy-intensive facilities that require significant amounts of electricity for heating, cooling, lighting, ventilation, water supply and operation of essential medical equipment.
