A twenty nine billion naira flood and erosion control project is set to commence in Bauchi state
When completed, the project would end decades of flooding and erosion that have threatened lives and property in several communities across the state capital.
No fewer than two hundred and thirteen thousand residents are expected to benefit from the N29 billion project being implemented under the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes, ACReSAL Project.

Speaking during the official groundbreaking ceremony, Governor Bala Mohammed said the intervention would not only control flooding and erosion, but also improve public health, security and economic activities by reclaiming degraded lands and reducing mosquito breeding sites.

The Commissioner for Housing and Environment, Danlami Kawule and the Project Coordimator ACReSAL Kabir Ibrahim said the project represents another major milestone in the state’s infrastructure and urban renewal drive.

The benefiting communities have been encouraged to support the contractors and safeguard the infrastructure to ensure environmental sustainability and long-term development.
