The Ogun State Security Network Agency, Amotekun Corps, has begun plans to recruit 1,000 new operatives as part of renewed efforts to strengthen security architecture across the state and the South-West region.

The Corps says the recruitment exercise is aimed at fortifying its operational capacity with disciplined and gallant officers capable of combating criminal activities and safeguarding lives and property.

Acting on behalf of the Corps Commander, Colonel Tajudeen Bakare (Rtd), officials of the agency disclosed the details of the exercise to AIT.live, noting that the screening process would be conducted across five operational zones in Ogun State. The designated centres include Ayetoro, Ilaro, Sagamu, Ijebu-Ode and Abeokuta.

According to the agency, applicants would undergo rigorous screening procedures including endurance tests, physical fitness assessment, map reading, as well as verification of indigene status and other security evaluations.

The Amotekun Corps explained that the exercise is part of broader regional security collaboration among South-West states to tackle emerging security threats and improve community policing.

The recruitment exercise is scheduled to commence on Monday, May 18 and run through June 6, 2026.

Residents of Ogun State have meanwhile been urged to continue supporting security agencies with credible information to enhance safety and maintain peace across the state.
