Bauchi State is stepping up efforts to secure schools and provide a safer environment for learning amid rising insecurity.

This follows the launch of the Safe Schools Implementation Task Force to protect educational institutions across the state.

The Commissioner of Police Sani Omolori announced the rollout on Thursday, vowing to deploy all available security resources to shield students and teachers from emerging threats.

But the command isn’t working in isolation. It wants school administrators and the public to report any suspicious activity immediately to local security agencies.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony in Bauchi, the Police Commissioner stated that the initiative directly targets security threats like banditry, kidnappings, cultism, and drug abuse.

Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, represented by his Chief Security Adviser, Retired DIG Sani Mohammed, affirmed that public safety remains the government’s top priority. He praised the security forces for sustaining peace and promised continued state backing.

The newly inaugurated committee members must now pinpoint vulnerable schools, boost intelligence sharing, and build rapid emergency response systems.
