Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma has secured the All Progressives Congress, APC ticket for Imo West Senatorial District defeating former Governor Rochas Okorocha, in the party’s primaries ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The primary election, which held in Imo State, attracted party faithful and stakeholders across the three senatorial zones as party members queued to cast their votes through the open ballot system adopted by the party.
Speaking shortly after the participating in the process in his local government in Oru East, Governor Uzodinma, who was accompanied by his wife, described the process as transparent, peaceful, and credible.

Meanwhile the Chairman and Returning Officer of the primary election, Rear Admiral Williams Kayoda (Rtd), who announced the results, declared that Governor Hope Uzodinma secured 230,464 votes to emerge winner of the contest.
According to the returning officer, former governor, Rochas Okorocha polled 1,098 votes to come second in the exercise.
Meanwhile, Patrick Ndubueze has clinched the APC ticket for Imo North Senatorial District, while Alex Mbata emerged candidate for Imo East Senatorial District.
