As Nigeria steps up efforts to boost revenue under the new tax regime, the Nigeria Revenue Service, NRS has expressed concern over notable leakages in the deduction and remittance of value added tax, VAT and withholding tax, WHT by some states and government agencies.
At a national workshop on strengthening collaboration with sub-national and key revenue stakeholders, NRS officials warned that public institutions must lead by example, or risk weakening public trust and overall tax compliance.
