Nasarawa Governor, Abdullahi Sule

Nasarawa state Governor, Abdullahi Sule has emerged winner of the senatorial primary election conducted by the All Progressives Congress for the Nasarawa North Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The primary election, which was held in the state saw Sule secure a total of 47,393 votes to defeat his only challenger, Silas Ali Agara, who polled 2,915 votes.

Declaring the results, Returning Officer Musa Shuaibu Guri described the exercise as peaceful, transparent and successful.

He stated that Sule satisfied all requirements of the party’s constitution and electoral guidelines, having secured the highest number of valid votes cast in the primary election.

The event was attended by several party leaders and government officials, including the Secretary to the Nasarawa State Government, Labaran Shuaibu Magaji, the Nasarawa State APC Chairman, Aliyu Bello, members of the National Assembly primary election committee, as well as returning officers from Akwanga, Wamba and Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Areas.

Sule’s victory by a margin of more than 44,000 votes is widely seen as a strong indication of his political influence in Nasarawa North as he prepares to represent the APC in the 2027 senatorial election.
