Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, says members of other political parties seeking to join its ranks must first provide evidence of resignation from their former parties.
Kaduna State NDC Chairman, Modecai Ibrahim, stated this during the maiden expanded meeting of the party in Kaduna, North-West Nigeria.
The meeting brought together party officials from ward, local government and state levels, alongside aspirants and supporters, as the party begins early preparations ahead of the 2027 elections.
Addressing members, Ibrahim, described the party as a growing political platform determined to operate within the principles of justice, transparency and the rule of law.
He stressed that the party would not admit politicians from other parties without documented proof of resignation from their previous political platforms.
NDC State Legal Adviser, Ben Churchill, urged members and aspirants to conduct their activities peacefully and within the provisions of the law.
Party leaders say the expanded meeting marks the beginning of wider consultations and grassroots mobilisation as the NDC seeks to strengthen its presence ahead of the 2027 elections.
