The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ogun State says it is more united and prepared for the 2027 general election following the emergence of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, as the party’s governorship flag bearer.
Governor Dapo Abiodun made this known after participating in the APC governorship primary election at Ward 3, Iperu 1, in Ikenne Local Government Area.
The process served as a formal confirmation of the endorsement.
At Ward 3, Iperu 1, in Ikenne Local Government Area, Governor Dapo Abiodun described the exercise as peaceful, transparent, and a reflection of the unity within the ruling party.
Emerging as the APC governorship flag bearer, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, appreciated party members for the overwhelming support across the state.
He pledged to deliver good governance and build on the developmental strides of the current administration if elected governor in 2027.
Announcing the result at the party secretariat in Abeokuta, the Chairman Governorship Primary Election Committee for the state, Wale Ohu, stated that the party had 343,292 registered voters, while 305,287 were accredited for the election and Adeola polled 304,055 votes.
The only contestants with Sen. Solomon Adeola, Abayomi Hunye had no vote.
