Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, has constituted screening committees across the 36 states of the federation as it begins the process of assessing aspirants seeking to contest for seats into the various State Houses of Assembly.
The exercise, which commenced on Saturday, May 23, 2026, is scheduled to run through Monday, May 25, 2026, according to a memo jointly signed by the party’s National Chairman, Moses Cleopas Zuwoghe, and National Secretary, Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu.
The party outlined key guidelines for the screening, stating that aspirants will be evaluated based on character, capability, and electoral viability.

It emphasised that only financially up-to-date members who have demonstrated commitment to the growth of the party will be eligible to purchase nomination forms.
In addition, the NDC stressed that all aspirants must meet constitutional requirements to be elected into the state legislature.
