African Democratic Congress, ADC in Ondo State, South-West Nigeria says it is poised to benefit from the internal crisis rocking the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, particularly allegations of candidate imposition ahead of the 2027 general election.
ADC State Chairman, Tola Alabere, stated this during the party’s National Assembly primary elections held at the weekend.
Alabere said the peaceful conduct of the primaries and the level of participation by party members demonstrate the ADC’s preparedness for the 2027 general election.
He expressed confidence that the party would provide a credible alternative for voters in the state.
The exercise produced two former Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, senators as candidates for the 2027 National Assembly elections in Ondo State.
While Nicholas Tofowomo emerged as the ADC candidate for Ondo South Senatorial District, Patrick Ayo Akinyelure, secured the party’s ticket for Ondo Central Senatorial District.
The ADC leadership says it will intensify grassroots mobilisation and expand its membership base as preparations gather momentum for the 2027 general election.
