The Lessons Of sacrifice, obedience and love as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim which is the essence of Eid-El-Kabir celebration should remain as a way of life for all Muslims even after this season.

This was the appeal of the Chief Imam of Ladi Lawal DAAR Mosque in Alagbado, Lagos State, South-West Nigeria, Muhammad Mushtaba Daudu and some other Muslim clerics who cautioned against widespread corruption, insecurity and greed among the generality of the population.

Celebrated by Muslims the world over, Eid-el-Kabir also known as festival of sacrifice has its origin in the story of Prophet Ibrahim who out of Love and obedience was willing to sacrifice his only son before the Almighty Allah orovided a ram in his stead.

This act of mercy is what makes a ram oreferable for the festival, but rather than making it cheap for everyone to afford, nany people due to greed and corruption see it as a business opportunity to inflate the price arbitrarily.

This act of corruption inherent in the system according to the Chief Imam, Mushtaba and his counterparts at Ojodu Grammar School worship centre is what has resulted to the worsening insecurity and other social economic challenges across the country.

Despite the complaints and economic challenges that made the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir a low key celebration in most parts of Lagos State, many turned out enmass at the various worship centres to appreciate God for life.
