Nasarawa Govt embarks on N30b housing scheme to reduce deficit

The construction of a thirty billion naira housing and Technology Village aimed at improving the socio economic development of Nasarawa state has commenced.

Governor Abdullahi Sule while speaking during the ground breaking ceremony of the technology village at Aso Pada in Karu Local Government Area of the state added that the initiative will support employment and wealth creation.

The N30 billion naira Nasarawa Technology village project is to seat on over 66 hectares of land. It will comprised 1,962 housing units estate, technology hub and other facilities to be built in collaboration with an indigenous firm, under a Public Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement.

Governor Sule said the project is in line with his administration’s roadmap for development in the area of housing, technology , employment and industrialisation to meet the needs of the citizens of the state.

Director General Nasarawa State Geographic Information Service Sunny Agasi added that the project is fully funded by the private partners in the consortium.

The goal of the project according to the Governor is to leverage the proximity of Nasarawa State to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as creating different technology clusters will support development of a technology-driven economy.
