It was a moment of sober reflection for the Catholic Community in Lagos Thursday as they bided farewell to their Former Director of Social Communications of the Archdiocese, Reverend Monsignor Gabriel Osu Who Passed onto Glory on the 8th of May 2026.
Funeral Mass at the Holy Cross Cathedral Provided an Opportunity for the Catholic Archbishop Adewale Martins and other Ministers of the Gospel to challenge the People especially Nigeria Leaders on the need to live in the light of salvation and care for the wellbeing of their fellow human beings.
For some minutes,the remains of late Reverend Monsignor Gabriel Osu was placed at the entrance of the holy cross cathedral for a lying in state before being taken into the church for a funeral Mass
The mammoth crowd who came to bid late father Osu farewell spoke volumes about the kind of life he lived while on earth.

Born in 1954 to the family of Mr Gabriel Okoli Osu and Dorothy from Ubulu- uku in Aniocha local government area of Delta State,Rev Monsignor Gabriel Osu had his early education in Lagos State and Ibadan Oyo State where he had his priestly formation.
He also studied abroad and served in several parishes across the Archdiocese.
He served as director of social communications of the Archdiocese of Lagos for over two decades .
He died on the 8th of May 2026 after a Protracted illness.
