The Federal Capital Territory Administration has warned owners of event centres, hotels, and other public facilities in Abuja, against allowing their premises to be used by illegal organizations.

The administration emphasized that land allocations within the Federal Capital Territory are strictly for lawful purposes, noting that any violation of this directive could attract severe consequences, including the revocation of property titles.

In a statement released on Friday, Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, said the move is part of efforts to strengthen security and safeguard lives and property in the nation’s capital.

He disclosed that the use of event venues and public buildings will now be closely monitored to ensure they are not exploited for gatherings capable of disrupting public peace.

The FCTA further urged facility owners to thoroughly verify the legitimacy of organizations seeking to use their spaces, especially during the ongoing political season.

According to the statement, operators must ensure they engage only with leadership recognized by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) when dealing with political parties while also maintaining proper transaction records. The administration warned that failure to comply with these guidelines will result in the revocation of title documents for affected properties.
