Some Aspirants of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC for FCT House of Representatives position have threatened to drag the leadership to court should it fail to conduct a proper primary.
Some of the aspirants who spoke to AIT’s Funke Ogunlolu in Abuja said the leadership failed to adhere to the agreement of holding a direct primary.
They blamed the Seriake Dickson-led NDC of pushing for consensus arrangements behind close doors while others demanding transparent, open primaries to restore grassroots confidence.
Earlier, Tensions peaked at the grassroots level in the FCT where NDC membership cards were being torn up by angry supporters and aggrieved voters at the Kabusa Ward , AMAC aduring the House of Representatives primaries.

The opposition members accused the NDC election officials of financial inducement to cast their votes for a particular aspirant while non-members confessed that they were invited just to be paid for impersonation as party members.
Amid the peak of tension regarding the NDC’s concensus for senatorial candidate, Peter Obi political ally and rights activist announced her withdrawal from the race as reports suggested that one mercy Pam was already anointed as the consensus candidate.
Party officials are yet to announce a final, consolidated list for all the FCT constituency tickets as internal appeals and reviews are ongoing.
