Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transforming the Edo Broadcasting Service, EBS into one of the leading media organisations in Nigeria.
The Governor gave the assurance during his first inspection visit to the state-owned television and radio station following the redeployment of the former Managing Director, Suleiman Aledeh, to the Edo State Orientation Agency.
The Governor was conducted round the facilities by the Acting Managing Director, Festus Alenkhe, who highlighted the station’s operations and challenges.
During the inspection, Governor Okpebholo expressed disappointment over the failure to install and put into use a transmitter he procured for EBS in 2025, despite its availability.
The Governor directed that necessary steps be taken to ensure the immediate installation and utilisation of the transmitter to enhance the station’s broadcast reach and service delivery.
Responding to some of the challenges presented by the Acting Managing Director, Governor Okpebholo assured the management and staff of his administration’s readiness to address the issues and provide the support needed to reposition the station for greater efficiency and competitiveness.
Governor Okpebholo expressed confidence in the new leadership of the Edo Broadcasting Service, noting that with the right support and commitment, the station would attain greater heights in broadcasting and effectively serve the people of Edo State.
