The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested seven suspects linked to kidnapping, homicide, arms trafficking, and one-chance robbery within the territory.
The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, Ahmed Sanusi, disclosed this during a media briefing in Abuja saying three suspected kidnappers were arrested in Zuba following the circulation of viral videos showing armed men dressed in military camouflage.
The Police Commissioner said the arrests were part of ongoing efforts by the command to combat violent crimes and enhance security across the Federal Capital Territory.
The Police Commissioner also disclosed that operatives uncovered the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of a 22-year-old man, Emmanuel Chukwuemeka, initially reported as a kidnapping case.
He said Investigations led to the arrest of Emmanuel Acha Leku and his girlfriend in Benue State, the suspect who allegedly murdered the victim in Lokogoma over proceeds from a fraudulent deal and later demanded a five-million-naira ransom from the victim’s family to conceal the crime.
