Delta State Govt confirms four deaths in Agbor train accident

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has expressed grief over the Agbor train accident in Ika South LGA that claimed four lives and injured many.

The governor condoled with the families of the deceased and wished the injured quick recovery. He described the incident as tragic and painful for the state.

Oborevwori immediately deployed the Commissioner for Special Duties and the Chairmen of Ika South and Ika North-East to coordinate rescue efforts. The Commissioner of Police was also on ground to secure passengers’ property.

Injured victims were rushed to Central Hospital Agbor, General Hospital Owa-Oyibu, and General Hospital Owa-Alero.

A total of 35 passengers are currently receiving treatment. Buses were also sent to evacuate survivors, while the deceased were taken to the mortuary.

The Governor assured the people of Delta State of his administration’s commitment to safety and pledged continued support for victims and their families.
